Terms & Conditions

Last updated Sep 11, 2026

These Terms & Conditions (the "Terms") govern your use of git.promo (the "Site") and the endorsement service offered on it (the "Service") by [LEGAL ENTITY], trading as GitPromo ("GitPromo", "we", "us"). By placing an order or using the Site you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The short version: you pay a flat price for us to make and publish a short video about your open-source repository on the accounts you pick. We choose how the video is made, we do not promise views or stars, and we refund in full if we cannot run your repository.

1. The Service

An endorsement is one short-form video about one public GitHub repository, generated by our automated pipeline and published once on each social media account you select at checkout. After publishing, the repository gets a results page on the Site showing the posts and their public engagement metrics.

The Service is self-serve. There is no approval round, no revision, and no human review of the video before it is published. That is how the price stays where it is.

2. Eligibility and what you may submit

To use the Service you must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. You may only submit a repository that:

  • is public on GitHub and contains a genuine software project, not a placeholder, coursework, spam, or a fork with no meaningful changes;
  • you own, maintain, or otherwise have the right to promote;
  • does not contain or promote malware, credential theft, scams, deceptive software, or anything unlawful;
  • is not primarily adult, gambling, weapons, or other content the social platforms prohibit.

We may decline any repository at our discretion, before or after payment. If we decline after payment, we refund in full.

3. Pricing and payment

The price is US$1 per 1,000 followers of each selected account, rounded down to the nearest thousand, with a minimum of US$1 per account. An account with 3,425 followers costs US$3. Follower counts are the ones shown on the Site at the time you order; they are refreshed periodically and may lag the platform by a few hours.

Prices are shown and charged in US dollars and exclude any taxes that may apply where you live. Payment is taken in full at checkout through Stripe. We do not store your card details.

We may change prices at any time; changes never affect an order you have already paid for.

4. Delivery

We aim to publish within 48 hours of payment and email you the scheduled date as soon as the pipeline assigns it, followed by the post links once live. Publishing times are targets, not guarantees; platform outages, rate limits, and moderation queues are outside our control.

If we have not published on a selected account within 14 days of payment and you have not asked us to wait, you may request a full refund for that account.

5. Creative control

We decide the script, visuals, voice, caption, hashtags, and timing of every video. The angle you write is an input, not an instruction. We may shorten, rephrase, or ignore it. We do not send drafts and we do not accept edits after publishing. If a video contains a factual error about your repository, email us and we will correct the caption or, at our discretion, republish.

6. Refunds

  • Full refund if we decline your repository for any reason, or fail to publish on a selected account within 14 days.
  • No refund once a video has been published on an account, because the work has been performed.
  • No refund for the level of views, likes, comments, stars, or any other outcome.
  • Refunds are made to the original payment method within 10 business days of our confirmation.

7. No guarantees of results

Reach on social platforms depends on their algorithms and their audiences on the day. We do not promise any number of views, likes, followers, GitHub stars, downloads, or any other result. The metrics on our results pages are historical and are not a forecast. Star counts shown as "since we posted" are a difference between two points in time, not a claim that our post caused every one of them.

8. Collaborator tagging

If you give us an Instagram handle, we will request that the post be published to your profile as a collaborator where the platform allows it. Whether the collaboration appears depends on your accepting the platform's request and on the platform's rules. We are not responsible if the platform declines or removes it.

9. Intellectual property

You keep every right in your repository. By ordering, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to use the repository's name, description, README, logo, screenshots, and other public materials to create and publish the video, the caption, and the results page, and to keep them published after the order is complete.

We own the videos, captions, and results pages we create. We grant you a perpetual, non-exclusive licence to share, embed, and repost the video and results page for your own promotion, with attribution to GitPromo where practical.

If you believe a video infringes your rights or someone else's, email us with details and we will investigate promptly.

10. Results pages

After publishing, the Site shows a page for your repository with its public metadata, our posts, and their public metrics. These pages are how we demonstrate the Service and are part of what you are buying. You may ask us to remove your repository's results page at any time; we will do so within 7 days. Removal from the Site does not remove the published social media posts, which remain subject to section 9.

11. Third-party platforms

Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and GitHub are not parties to these Terms and may remove content, limit reach, or suspend accounts under their own rules. We are not liable for anything a platform does. If a platform removes a video within 7 days of publishing for reasons unrelated to your repository, we will republish once at no charge.

12. Acceptable use

You may not use the Site or Service to submit content you do not have rights to, to promote anything unlawful or deceptive, to interfere with the Site or its providers, to scrape the Site in a way that burdens it, or to circumvent pricing. We may refuse service, cancel orders, and block access for breaches of this section.

13. Disclaimer

The Site and Service are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of the Service or these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us for the order the claim relates to. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special losses, lost profits, lost data, or loss of goodwill. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or anything else that cannot be excluded by law.

15. Indemnity

You will indemnify us against claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these Terms, from a repository you submitted without the right to do so, or from unlawful content in a repository you submitted.

16. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site or refuse future orders if you breach these Terms. Sections 7, 9, 10, 13, 14, 15, and 17 survive termination.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION], and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers may bring claims in the courts of their home country where the law gives them that right. Before starting any claim, you agree to email us and give us 30 days to resolve the matter.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms by posting a new version on this page with a new date. The version in force when you paid applies to that order.
